This Privacy Policy describes how Clean Connect (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Clean Connect mobile application and related services used by cleaners, clients, and administrators.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, employer/client details, and login credentials.
- Location information: precise GPS location (latitude and longitude), including while you are checked in to a site. This may include foreground location while the app is open and background location while an on-site session is active, so we can verify attendance and apply site rules.
- Camera and photos: selfie images captured during site check-in and check-out for attendance verification.
- Attendance and task data: site check-in/check-out times, QR scan events, distance from site, session duration, and logout reason (manual or automatic).
- Device and app data: device identifiers, app version, operating system, push notification tokens, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and secure the service.
- Communications: messages and files sent through in-app chat or related features.
3. How we use location information
We access and collect location data to:
- Verify that a cleaner is at the assigned site when checking in or out.
- Calculate distance from the site during an active on-site session.
- Perform periodic location checks (approximately every 10 minutes) while checked in.
- Automatically end a session if the cleaner leaves the site area (for example, more than 300 metres away), if location cannot be obtained, or if required location checks are missed.
- Provide attendance records to authorised employers, clients, and administrators.
- Maintain security, prevent misuse, and improve service reliability.
Background location is used only during an active on-site session and is not used for unrelated tracking when you are not checked in to a site.
4. How we use other information
- Authenticate users and provide access to assigned features.
- Record and report site attendance and work activity.
- Send service notifications (for example, session alerts or account messages).
- Support customer service, safety, and operational reporting.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
5. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Your employer or client organisation and their authorised administrators, for attendance, operations, and workforce management.
- Service providers that help us host, secure, and deliver the app (for example, cloud hosting, push notification, and analytics providers such as Google Firebase).
- Legal or safety authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Legal basis and consent
Where required, we rely on your consent, contract performance, and legitimate business interests to process attendance and location data. Before requesting location permissions, the app presents a clear disclosure explaining what data is collected, why it is needed, and how it is used.
7. Data retention
We retain personal and attendance data for as long as needed to provide the service, meet contractual and reporting requirements, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Retention periods may vary by data type and client agreement.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (for example, you may disable location permissions in device settings, though some features may not work).
- Request restriction or object to certain processing.
- Lodge a complaint with a privacy regulator.

10. Children
Clean Connect is intended for workforce use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. International transfers
Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country. We take steps designed to protect information in line with this policy and applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
